I appreciate Diane Schuur because she altered my viewpoint of the disabled.I don't see any negative attitude toward her obstacle.Just like one paragraph in the text," We're like every body else.We're here to be able to live a life as full as any sighted person's.And it's ok to be ourselves."Therefore ,she devoted her enthusiasm to music to overcome obstacles.Her life wasn't arranged by destiny;instead,she chose to arrange her own life.Miracle isn't by accident.

I think Helen Keller is a role-modle to many people who face phisical obstacles.She was blined and deaf after the fever when she was less than two years old.Normal people would give up and have a tormented life but she didn't. Instead of deafting by her obstacles,she chose to deal with it.The way that Helen Keller overcome her obstacles can be learnt by not only disabled people but also us! BY Frances 珮因
ReplyDeleteThe world is not fair for everyone yet.Like the disabled,they encounter a lot of obstacles,but if we have an positive toward it,the world will become more beautiful.Like Diane Schuur,she said"We're like every body else.We're here to be able to live a life as full as any sighted person's.And it's ok to be ourselves."Besides that,we must have enough courage to overcome obstacles.The miracle is for those people who never give up and keep persisting in,so that our draems never die.
ReplyDeleteWe must have pity for people suffering from mental or physical handicap. However,they may be not thought the same as us,according to Reading Two,Diane said” I hate the word handicapped. Keller would too. We're people with inconvenience. We are not charity cases. ” Diane is interested in singing jazz. She never gives up her dream,and is able to fulfill it. I admire Diane and Keller for their attitude to the obstacle they faced. They faced obstacles,then deal with obstacles,and finally overcome obstacles,instead of defeated by it. Learning from them,we know that we should not evade obstacle,and it is a way to train our mind and make we get more encouragement when we face problems!

Sometimes, I think that we have to face obstacles harder. I say that is not affected of the handicapped. In fact, we should use serious attitude to face, deal with obstacles and overcome obstacles finally. After reading the reading one and two, I can’t help but think like such thing. Of course are we and we have ever been encountered such similar condition. Take Frank McCourt an example. We usually face difficulties about economy. Although our condition not like him such poor and live meager, poverty and hopelessness living, we easily to distress many object’s cause due to problem about money. And I also want to say Diane Schuur this female is very optimistic and sturdy. She thinks that the disabled is not her disadvantage. She arrange her things in her life. As a matter of fact, Frank McCourt and Diane Schuur, their miracles are created by them. By what? Hard? Optimistic attitude? And patience to things? Answers is, the following is all right!

ReplyDeleteIn fact, i think that we shouldn't take pity for the handicapped. we should face them by respectful attitude and optemistic think! Because they are living. This is the first reason.And the second reason is that they don't defeated by obstacles.Instead to say,we should have deal with problems and reslove of overcome obstacles.

Helen Keller,who was blined and deaf because a fever.For people,we may have the misery thought and have a tormented life .But,Helen didn't defeated by disabled.Instead,she didn't give up and use another sense --touch to know what the world like.Finally,she became a famous writer .

ReplyDeleteEveryone whose eyes and ears are disabled tends to
bow to his fate and even give up his life.
However,Helen Keller faced obstacles and broke her disability and still learning by read the book of blind.
Every problem in our life may not difficult than Helen Keller's.
In consequence,the man as healthy as us should face his problem rather than avoid it.

I love to read some artobiographies about how celebrities went through their obstacles in life,because their stories can encourage me to struggle when I'm in troible.
ReplyDeleteLife isn't a bed of roses,so everyone has his/her own challenges in different life period until he/she leaves the world.However obstacle is not s stumbling stone to success but a foundation stone to success.
Frank McCourt was born in a poor family.He only own his mother,brothers humor and storytelling talents but he made a good use of his owning to produce a wonderful future and defeated his shame about tormented childhood.

Everyone has a particular destiny. Thus there are specific difficulties and challenges, no one can conveniently step on his path. someone will get in situations of poverty, disability, pain, despair, poverty... to find the truth of life we need to face the difficult challenge. And from there find the meaning of life, you never give up. as those who went before have done: Anne Frank, Helen Keller ...

I think Diane Schuur is very brave.Though she didn't have the ability to see,she still tried hard to learn and yearned for more word.She dealt with the obstacle and finally found her interest.

I agree with the idea that we should face the problem rather than avoid it.I think we aren't brave enough but we can have courage in order to overcome the obstacles and make our dream come true.Eventhough the processes may be really difficult and full of dangerous,as long as we believe our perfection then keep going forward.The misery will go away and the whole new life must start!

I think everyone must have their own obstacle in life.Since that is what we are bound to face,why not deal with obstacles and make those what are called "obstacles" be positive experiences? So don't be afraid of! We should let hopelessness turn to a chance.Solve it and make your life more satisfactory!

I think everyone will have difficulty someime, and we have to deal wuth these obstacales sooner or later. We don't have to feel shame at having problems, We just have to find a possitive attitude to overcom them. It may not be easy to most people, but it is the only way we grow up.

ReplyDeleteEveryone had his or her obstacales. However,not everyone had confidence to overcome it. We had a good example,Frank McCourt,to follow. I thought that what we had to learn from him is"humor". when we were in a bad circumstance,we should change our mind. Therefore,humor was a good way to help us.

ReplyDeleteYour comment is positive. We do not feel shame at facing obstacals. We should take some steps to deal with problem,like Frank McCourt.
I think they are so brave.Thought they are something blemished or something poverty,they also live well.Some of them maybe be discarded but they never give up themselves and also see what they have and never see what they don`t have.I think this concept is very positive and we who have anything need to learn it.

"The world is not fair for everyone" is just apparent view.In fact,the world is fair for everyone.For example,someone born in a rich family does not always succeed in everything he wants,because he/she doesn't cherish every resources.On the contrary,someone from nothing usually turns defeat into victory because he/she can make a good of his/her chances.
Just do it and dance your own dance.

Everyone has their own obstacles to overcome.Obstacles emerge in different forms.Disablement are just one of them.So our attitute toward those disabled people must not take pity on them.Just like Diane Schuur said, "We're like every body else.We're here to be able to live a life as full as any sighted person's.And it's ok to be ourselves."

When we learn language, we might encounter some difficulty and let us stop learning.

Diane Schuur , when I saw this reading . It let me to think a celebrity who is a singer also he blinded ,Bocelli. They challenged their obstacles and created their own miracle . Not only they overcome obstacles but creat music to console our mind . In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes in every year . How do we live our life ? As far as I am concerned that like Diane and Bocelli even there comes many obstacles and we can never give up . It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get up again.

It is believe that all of the people has heard about the story of Hellen Keller. If I were her,maybe I couldn't face the obstacles which lie front of me.It's to difficult to live without my abilities of listening,speaking and watching.But I still faced a lots of obstacles un my life although is much lower than her obstacles.I still find out the way to solve them.So,when face the questions,don't afraid it!

ReplyDeleteIf one day I wake up,I find myself become a handicapper.Do I have the brave to face other's sight and overcome the obstacles?
Thus,I come to understand the greatness of them!Everyone of them may borned with hopelessness.But each of them do not believe the destinise.They do their best to take challenge to many trials and tribulations,and overcome the obstacles.Finally,their name become the symbol about "Success".

ReplyDeleteI agree with your comment.A person who wasn't defeated by his or her disablement is successful.Hellen Keller is one of the successful example.She overcame her own obstacle and bring her into a new level.
I think Helen Keller is one of the greateast women in history.Although she can't hear,see, she still try her best to encourage this world.

ReplyDeleteEvery obstacle has its meaning.Everytime we encounter many difficulties.We should try to resolve it instead of avoding it so that we can learn something from every obstacle.

Everyone should have some obstacles;maybe it is about phisical or economic and so on.Who can overcome all of thier obstacle thne they could be called winner.The way to success is to pay as much as you can.

As far as I am concerned that like Diane and Bocelli even there comes many obstacles and we can never give up .Helen Keller didn't be defeated by her fate. Everyone whose eyes and ears are disabled tends to bow to his fate and even give up his life. Normal people would give up and have a tormented life but she didn't.

i appreciate the attitude of helen keller toward life . everyone have a negative attitude toward life , but she can overcone it and accept the imperfection in life . that's why i take her as a idol of someone who can learn from. she is blind . yes , that is true,but i think she is more brave than who are not blind like me. she has the stronger ability to face the darkness and hopelessness.
